Patent Application

While playing baseball I realized that metal baseball bats are loud. To reduce the sound, I played around with placing different materials into the ear holes of my baseball helmet. It deflected the sound and made it bearable to hit 25 to 100 balls in the batting cages.

I put some more work into this and realized this solution was a possibly an invention. To my surprise, I searched for existing patents and there was nothing else like it.

COVID-19 hit in March of 2020. I used some of my free time to file a provisional patent with the United States Patent Office. I then worked with a patent attorney to develop a full patent application. On July 21st, 2020 I completed the filing of SYSTEM FOR REDUCING SOUND IN A SPORTS PROTECTIVE HELMET (US Patent Application No. 16/934,655).
